Lion-O, Lord of the Thundercats is not as he seems. His body is fully developed, however, he has the mind of a child. With the enchanted claw and the Sword of Omens at his side Lion-O has powers that rival all the other Thundercats. With Jaga’s guidance Lion-O has learned to trust in the Sword of Omens and the Code that unites all Thunderians.
Original voice – Larry Kenney
Larry started his career in 1963 (when he was 15) as a DJ at a radio station in Illinois. He then went on to DJ in Cleveland, Chicago and New York. After that he became a cast member on the radio show ‘Imus in the Morning’ in 1973. He there made fun of famous and political figures such as Elvis Presley, Richard Nixon and Ross Perot. His television career started when he became the host of the New York show ‘Bowling for Dollars’ from 1976 to 1979. He is also the voice of ‘Sonny the Coco Bird’ for ‘Cocoa Puffs’.
Larry is known by all Thundercats fans as the voice of Lion-O, he is a complete legend! He is also the voice of Jackalman and a few of the other Thundercats characters. When asked about his Thundercats role, Larry said “The first thing I thought to myself was I don’t want to play him like a superhero. But they kept saying to me ‘Well we want a strong superhero voice’. So I just basically tried to make him vulnerable and yet strong.”
