News and gossip surrounding the upcoming Thundercats The Movie

Esquire magazine article a hoax!

July 30th, 2007 by clare

I’ve had a lot of questions about this, so just to clarify…..the article that appeared on the Esquire magazine website on 11th June 2007 regarding Thundercats The Movie was in fact a hoax.  The article that I refer to can be linked to below:

Esquire magazine - Thundercats The Movie article

If you look at the very bottom of the article is says ‘This story is a hoax.  And sadly, its believability is due more to Hollywood’s utter lack of imagination than any cleverness on our part. Just let it go already.’

So Jon Favreau won’t be directing Thundercats The Movie 2010 and unfortunately for the male of the species, Jessica Simpson won’t be sporting a lycra catsuit to play the role of Cheetara!

I do applaud Esquire for this hilarious article though, some of the quotes in it are quality and it would have been side-splitting if Jon Favreau had actually said “I mean, the Sword of Omens?  Lion-O holding it to his crotch and screaming progressively louder until it gets full extension — there’s not a better meat-spanking joke out there.”

In conclusion, Thundercats The Movie is going to be a CGI-animated feature, not a live action movie and I for one can’t wait for it to be released!
