Charlie Wen Working On Thundercats Movie
Written by clare on December 29, 2008 – 11:30 pm -ThunderCats movie news coming from Hollywood suggests Charlie Wen is doing the concept work. He is most famous for his work on the Gatchaman movie as well as being illustrator for the Gods of War 1 and 2 games. Charlie Wen is the second big name from the gaming world that Warners have signed up to work on the Thundercats movie after they signed up Gears of War art director Gerry O'Flagherty to direct Thundercats. It's believed the movie is attempting to pay homage to the original TV series while still receiving an update to the design. Voice casting is now underway and announcements are imminent. Fingers crossed that Warners have listened to the fans and offered Larry Kenney, original voice of Lion-O the lead role. If you haven't yet signed the petition, you can by clicking here. And not just the movie but the new series, videogames, etc. (from Caravaggio) A - Nothing specific, but I would guess that if the upcoming movie does well, Warner Bros. might consider producing a new TV series. Q - How did you get into voice acting? I'm really interested in that myself and would like to hear how you should go about it. (from Caravaggio) A - I started my career as a radio DJ, which was great training for voice-over work; I read live commercials and did impressions and character voices on my show. My advice to anyone considering getting into the field is to take classes from a reputable teacher or studio. Could Tyrese Gibson Be A ThunderCat?
Written by clare on August 3, 2008 – 9:49 pm -Rumour has it that Tyrese Gibson, American R&B singer, is going to be involved in the new ThunderCats movie! Tyrese told ComingSoon.net that he has been very involved in the attempt to bring the classic '80s cartoon series to the big screen and seemed to hint that a deal is very nearly complete. They asked him what character he would be playing, he just smiled and said that there are a number of options on the table. Last year, the project was announced by Warner Bros as a CGI-animated feature that would be directed by video game veteran Jerry O'Flaherty. Watch this space...!!! Read more

Charlie Wen Named As ThunderCats Movie Concept Artist
Written by clare on June 7, 2008 – 6:28 pm -Charlie Wen has recently been named as Concept Artist for the upcoming ThunderCats movie. Wen is a very talented artist who has worked on several video games and movies. Amongst Wen's recent achievements is his work as Visual Development Director for the popular series God of War and upcoming God of War 2. Up until recently Wen worked at Imagi Studios as a character designer for Gatchaman, a movie remake of G-Force. This is what Wen had to say about his departure from the Gatchaman project and his involvement in the upcoming ThunderCats movie: "The vision's changed since I first joined and seems to be going towards a younger Power Rangers audience - I wanted to see a Gatchaman that I would love to see and didn't want to see it go this direction, so I departed from Imagi and took an Art Directing/Character Designing gig on ThunderCats. ThunderCats on the Houses of Parliament!

ThunderCats Soundtrack Petition

The ThunderCats music was composed by Bernard Hoffer and is absolutely fantastic as you all know. A ThunderCats fan named Sonia has managed to get her hands on the complete music cues for the first 65 episodes of the show via Bernie himself and she's been trying for the last 7-8 years to get Warner Bros to release an official ThunderCats soundtrack.
